Introduction

xcode-mods is a Claude Code mod built on Xcode 27's headless Xcode MCP server (the mod itself is not an MCP). It adds a toolbar band (scheme ▸ destination, activity, problem counters), an Xcode pane with Build · Run · Tests tabs (live build progress and issues, grouped tests, stdout and OSLog), and a Canvas pane with SwiftUI #Preview snapshots that re-render after Claude edits Swift files. Toasts report results, and x sends issues to Claude to fix. It also reflects Claude's own Xcode tool calls, and stays hidden outside folders with an .xcodeproj/.xcworkspace. Needs Xcode 27+ with headless MCP enabled, an MCP server named xcode, and an mcp__xcode allow rule; the author states Claude Code 2.1.286+ (before our 2.1.287 baseline). Terminal previews need the kitty graphics protocol. Based on README and source; not run-tested by us.
