About this mod
prompt-jump is a Claude Code plugin built on the mods (function hooks) API, inspired by Grok Build's prompt navigator. Run /prompts and a row of ticks appears above the input, one per prompt you typed:
- Hover a tick to preview that prompt; click to scroll the transcript so it sits at the top
◀/▶step to the previous or next prompt, with a position counter such as2/4- On startup it backfills history from the session transcript, so
--resume/--continuesessions get the full list - Only your own prompts are kept; slash commands,
!bash, tool results and background notices are filtered out - Keyboard support:
ctrl+x tabto focus,Tabto move,Enterto jump,Escto return
Before using it: requires Claude Code 2.1.287+ and fullscreen (alternate screen) mode for scrolling; the mods API is early access and may change. If /prompts is missing after install, enable CLAUDE_CODE_ENABLE_FUNCTION_HOOKS as the README describes.
Known limits: hover preview is a single truncated line; prompts from before /compact can't be jumped to; with very large transcripts the earliest prompts may not all load.
Who it’s for
- Developers who often need to revisit an earlier prompt in long sessions
- People resuming old sessions who want to find past prompts quickly
