Introduction

Progress Ring is a Claude Code function-hooks mod by Álvaro del Pozo. When Claude starts a plan of three or more steps it opens a progress card and closes each step as it finishes. A band above the prompt shows a percentage ring, the current step, the plan, and whether Claude is working, waiting for you or stalled; a /progress panel lists every plan in this and other chats, subagents awaiting review, and a jump to the owning chat; milestone rows in the conversation read “Now: X · ✓ closed · N/M”.

  • Cards live in ~/.claude/progress, written by a local Python CLI; the percentage counts only closed steps.
  • It adds a usage rule to the system prompt and one line of card state to each prompt.
  • Author notes: python3 3.9+, macOS or Linux, tested only on Claude Code 2.1.287; the interface follows the system language (Spanish or English).

Not run by us; written from the README and manifests; the preview is illustrative.
