Introduction

model-pick is a Claude Code mod that switches model and effort in one go from a fuzzy-search pane.

  • /pick opens the pane; type a few letters (e.g. op hi) and press Enter to run /model opus then /effort high.
  • With an empty search it lists favorites, the 5 most recent picks, then every combo; *son max toggles a favorite, =fx fable xhigh sets an alias (aliases beat fuzzy matches), and a number picks that row.
  • Without the pane: /pick fx or /pick son max; bind a key to command:pick in keybindings.json.
  • Offers default, opus, sonnet, haiku, fable, opusplan and their [1m] variants, with efforts low to max plus auto; model ids from availableModels and your default model in settings.json (such as Bedrock or Vertex) are added automatically.
  • If you decline the switch or your account can't use a model, it reports "not applied" and records nothing.

Favorites, aliases and recents persist in the plugin store. Requires Claude Code 2.1.292 or newer. This entry covers only model-pick from the mini-claude-mods repo. The preview is illustrative.
