Context Bar is a Claude Code mod that draws a footer in the slot right of the hint line under the prompt. It shows how much of the last prompt the cache served and roughly when it expires (99% ~58m, then cold), learning whether your account caches for 5 minutes or an hour and remembering it between sessions; with warm-compact installed it uses that mod's duration and marks a pending compaction (⇊) or keep-warm renewal (♨). It shows the model and effort, colored by family and level; click either to pick another and it runs /model or /effort for you. A context bar (green, orange, red) updates after every step, with an early ~ estimate after large reads and a hover breakdown matching /context. Compact ⇊ and clear ⌫ ask first and time out after five seconds. Opening a subagent transcript switches the footer to that agent, read-only. Needs Claude Code 2.1.296+ (author-tested on 2.1.296 and 2.1.302). In Desktop it shows a single line of context and cache. Scores are documentation-calibrated, not tested by us; the preview is illustrative.
