Introduction
YouTube Side Player is a Claude Code function-hooks mod: /yt searches or opens YouTube, playing inline with sound in a Ghostty/kitty side pane, or in an always-on-top macOS popout elsewhere. Supports pause/resume, hide-while-listening and window placement. Inline playback needs yt-dlp and ffmpeg; if missing from PATH, the first play checksum-verifies downloads into the plugin data dir. Needs Claude Code 2.1.287+ and macOS. Uses the network for YouTube and possibly tool binaries. Preview is illustrative.
