Introduction
reels is a Claude Code mod that plays YouTube Shorts in a terminal pane: they play while Claude works and pause when the main turn ends, with "Claude's done, your turn".
- Opt-in: installing changes nothing until you type
/reels;/reels stopor the pane's Stop turns it off. - How it works: a bundled Node helper starts a hidden Chrome through Playwright on youtube.com/shorts, writes about 15 PNG frames a second to
~/.claude-mods/reels/frames, and the pane shows them; the mod drives playback over a local Unix socket. - Keys:
jnext,kprevious,mmute,xstop. - Login:
/reels loginopens a visible YouTube window to accept cookies or sign in; the profile stays in~/.claude-mods/reels/profile.
First use needs Playwright 1.63.0 installed into ~/.claude-mods/reels (/reels prints the command), plus Google Chrome and Node; pictures show in the terminal only. The author states Claude Code 2.1.287 or later.
Who it is for

Requirements
