Introduction

next-steps is a Claude Code function-hooks plugin: after each turn it shows up to three next-prompt suggestions above the input. Press 1/2/3 (or click) to fill a draft you can edit, press 0 to dismiss; the top suggestion also appears as dim ghost text for Tab. It uses $.model.fork for a short cached follow-up and feeds the session’s skills and slash commands into that fork, so suggestions can be /skill …; unknown commands are dropped. The author states it never submits a prompt on its own. Suggestions draw in the terminal only. Install with claude plugin marketplace add anthropics/claude-plugins-community then claude plugin install next-steps@claude-community. The preview is illustrative; scores are not from a live run.

Who it is for

  • People who want editable next-prompt or slash-command suggestions after each turn

Requirements
