Introduction
github-actions-pane is a Claude Code mod that shows your GitHub Actions runs in a pane beside the transcript, drawn like GitHub's run view: jobs, the running job's steps, status icons and live durations.
- A band above the prompt says what is running (
⟳ 2 running · ~3m left) or what failed; where the pane cannot seat, the status line says it. /actionsopens or closes the pane and switches scope (commit, branch, repo); auto-open is optional. Failed jobs collapse to the failed step; click a run to open it withgh run view --web.- Time left is the median of the workflow's last 10 successful runs.
- It polls via
gh(10 s active, 60 s idle) and runs a localgit rev-parseevery 5 s to catch pushes.
Requires Claude Code 2.1.296+ (the tested build), a logged-in gh, and a checkout with a GitHub remote. Mods are early access.
Who it is for
- People who want to watch CI without leaving Claude Code after a push
- People who want to see at once which job and step failed
Requirements
- Claude Code ≥ 2.1.296
- Requires gh installed and logged in (gh auth login) and a GitHub remote.
- An auto-opened pane needs 144+ columns; narrower, the status line shows runs.
- The pane body draws only in the terminal; mods are early access.
