Please install the Claude Code mod "Desktop Statusline" (https://github.com/centminmod/claude-plugins). Before installing, read the Security and Requirements sections of its README and tell me what it reads and writes, which commands it runs, whether it uses the network, and which Claude Code version, OS and terminal it needs. If everything looks fine, run claude plugin marketplace add centminmod/claude-plugins and claude plugin install desktop-statusline@centminmod, then remind me to run /reload-plugins in my session.Send this to Claude Code so it reads the author’s instructions before installing.

NoneIntroduction
Desktop Statusline is a Claude Code function-hooks mod by George Liu. The CLI statusLine setting never runs in the Desktop Code tab; this mod reads the session data from inside Claude Code and draws a status band above the prompt there.
- Line 1: folder, git branch, worktree marker, commits ahead/behind, uncommitted files; right-aligned session age, prompt count and cost.
- Line 2: context-window meter. Line 3: 5-hour and weekly plan limits with reset countdowns. Line 4: last-turn duration, model, cache hit rate, idle time, compactions.
- One row per subagent (up to three) and per workflow run. Meters turn amber at 80% and red at 95%; a notification or toast fires as a limit crosses 80% and 95%.
Draws only in the desktop app; in a terminal it draws nothing. Requires Claude Code 2.1.287+. Author states no network and no files written, with two read-only git commands. Not run by us; the preview is illustrative.
Who it is for
- People working in the Claude Desktop Code tab who miss the status line
- Users who want limits and context fill always visible
Requirements
- Claude Code ≥ 2.1.287
- Draws only in the Desktop Code tab; not in a terminal, VS Code, claude -p or cloud sessions.
- The desktop app ships its own Claude Code, so keep the app updated too.
