Please install the Claude Code mod "cctop" (https://github.com/tomstagl/cctop). Before installing, read the Security and Requirements sections of its README and tell me what it reads and writes, which commands it runs, whether it uses the network, and which Claude Code version, OS and terminal it needs. If everything looks fine, run claude plugin marketplace add tomstagl/cctop and claude plugin install cctop@cctop, then remind me to run /reload-plugins in my session.Send this to Claude Code so it reads the author’s instructions before installing.
git clone https://github.com/tomstagl/cctop

UnspecifiedIntroduction
cctop is a standalone TUI for watching Claude Code sessions, and this plugin brings it inside Claude Code. On builds with function hooks, /cctop-pane docks the dashboard beside the transcript, drawn row for row like the TUI and following Claude Code's light or dark theme.
- Views: Coach (four lights and one nudge, with a button that fills the nudge into the prompt), Overview, Tools (calls, errors, p50/p95 and tokens pushed into context per tool), Agents, Files, Events and Advisor
- Context, cost and rate limits come from the engine; with the
cctopbinary installed, the rest is filled in fromcctop query - The coach's one-line form sits in the status line
- Two skills,
/cctopandcctop-insights, let Claude answer questions such as "why is my cache hit ratio low?"
Needs the cctop binary (brew install tomstagl/tap/cctop or cargo install cctop). The author lists 2.1.269, the first function hooks build, as the pane's minimum, and plugin 0.10.0 was tested with 2.1.284; docking beside the transcript needs fullscreen and at least 110 columns, otherwise it draws above the prompt. It runs cctop query and writes a pane marker file per session. Not run-tested by this site; the preview is illustrative.
Who it is for
- People who want tool timings, context and cache hit ratios in detail
- People already using the cctop TUI
Requirements
- Claude Code ≥ 2.1.269
- Needs the cctop binary (brew or cargo).
- 0.10.0 was tested with 2.1.284; update the plugin when the early-access API moves.
- Docking needs fullscreen and at least 110 columns.
