Introduction
Better Statusline is a Claude Code function-hooks mod that draws dot-matrix rings above the prompt for context, cache, 5-hour and weekly quotas and spend, with fold/unfold. On macOS it can read Spotify or Apple Music via osascript and optionally fetch cover art (curl or osascript). Needs git; optional python3 for ring sizing; covers need kitty/Ghostty graphics. Author states Claude Code 2.1.289+. Preview is illustrative; not run-tested here.
