claude-skins is a mod that redraws the transcript: tool calls as rows with icons and timings, edits as diff cards, tables and code as animated cards, shell output in a terminal card, and a band above the prompt with context and plan limits plus a Compact button.
- Seven skins, light and dark; the default is the black-and-white noir
/skinopens a settings page with a live preview, switches and repainting;/skin gallerynumbers every element it draws- The mod gives Claude a
designtool, so "make me a skin that feels like a sunset" builds one and applies it while you watch - The desktop app gets the fullest look; in the terminal, edits and shell output keep Claude Code's own drawing
The author states a skin only changes what is drawn, not the stored conversation or what the model reads. It reads the session directory, context and plan usage and the theme setting, keeps its settings in the mod store, starts no process, touches no file and makes no network call; it compacts only when you press Compact and copies only when you press Copy. Requires Claude Code 2.1.287+ in a terminal or the desktop Code tab. Not run-tested by this site; the preview is illustrative.
