Introduction
SEO Cockpit is the optional function-hooks mod in the claude-seo repo (plugins/seo-cockpit); it enforces in Claude Code what a skill can only ask for.
- Spend guard: paid SEO API calls (DataForSEO, Ahrefs, Firecrawl, Moz and others) are checked against the claude-seo budget before they run; over the daily cap they are held, otherwise you may be asked. If it cannot check, it fails closed.
- Audit band: while
/seo auditruns, a line above the prompt shows agents running and done, findings, spend and time; a receipt line follows the answer. - Visual cockpit (
/seo-cockpit): one overview of audit score, Core Web Vitals, Search Console, rankings, Maps grid and spend, with detail views, HTML export and a status-line summary. /seo-spendand/seo-doctoranswer without a turn or tokens.- Economy mode runs the five Opus agents on Sonnet.
It needs the claude-seo plugin and Python 3, and runs claude-seo's Python scripts for the ledger, Search Console and CrUX. The author says it reads no credentials or environment variables and writes only the HTML dashboard on request. Requires Claude Code 2.1.287+; the spend guard is CLI only. This entry covers the seo-cockpit mod only, not claude-seo's skills or shell hooks. The preview is illustrative.
