Introduction
claude-privacy-gateway is a Claude Code function-hooks Mod (PoC) that redacts PII/secrets to PII*_ placeholders with regex plus local Gemma 4 (e.g. LM Studio) before content reaches Claude, restoring values only for local tool calls and on-screen display. Detection failure defaults to fail-closed. Needs a local Gemma endpoint; verified by the author on Claude Code 2.1.289. No LICENSE file found—recorded as NOASSERTION. Install via claude --plugin-dir; no marketplace. Scores are document-calibrated, not runtime-tested.
