Introduction
marp-preview is a Claude Code function-hooks mod: /marp opens a side pane with every Marp slide as a scrolling column of images, re-renders on save, and scrolls to the slide that changed. It only reads the deck and writes PNGs under /tmp/marp-preview/. It runs marp from local node_modules or npx @marp-team/marp-cli, plus grep to find decks. First-time npx may use the network. Needs Claude Code 2.1.289+ and a kitty-graphics terminal such as Ghostty or kitty (not through tmux/ssh). Preview is illustrative.
Who it is for
- People editing Marp decks in Claude Code who want an in-terminal preview
Requirements
- Claude Code ≥ 2.1.289
- Platforms · macOS / Linux
- Needs a kitty-graphics terminal (Ghostty/kitty), not through tmux or ssh.
- Local marp-cli is faster; otherwise npx may be slow on first run.
