Introduction

graphmod is a Claude Code function-hooks mod that nudges Claude to draw with ```dot blocks, then styles them with gvpr and renders with dot. Kitty-graphics terminals get a PNG plus an interactive HTML link; desktop gets SVG. It writes only under ~/.cache/graphmod/, makes no network calls, and strips DOT attributes that could read local files. Built and tested on Claude Code 2.1.289 (recorded as tested, not an author-stated hard minimum). Needs Graphviz (dot/gvpr) on PATH. Preview is illustrative.

Who it is for

  • People who want real architecture diagrams in the terminal, not ASCII

Requirements

  • Claude Code ≥ 2.1.289
  • Author built and tested on 2.1.289; not stated as a hard lower bound.
  • Needs Graphviz on PATH: brew install graphviz.
  • Terminals without picture support may show source or a fallback.
